I was wondering if anybody was going to say anything about it, but I figured that even FP Jalops had more class than that.

Geez.. seems more of Gawker has spilled over here than before.. Couple that with the incredibly tactless comment on the Daytona crash I could't help but reply to, general decency seems to have been thrown out of th window. I knew FP was bad, but this are youtube commenting levels.

Class? Are you kidding.....FP is basically Florida.
They are the people who go to walmart in a robe.
The people who wear sweat pants everyday, but obviously are just lazy and not working out.
FP is a place I never go anymore.

The shame is this...the internet is less the Wild West and more the 1920s now...there are still some problems, but it is better than it used to be. Unfortunately, not everybody has figured out the rules yet.

Yeah.. but remember what the 1930's lead up to in the EU here.. ;)

Oh, I don't doubt there will be at least one internet culture war, most likely kicked off by the Fran Ferdinand that is the removal of the anonymous identity or something similar.

Hah, that was a bit earlier than the 30's but yeah..
Internet anonymity.. NSA.. Every other country's equivalent.. That has long since passed.
Geez I'm sounding like a cynical old bastard here.
But yeah, It's been a bit better lately because they have found ways to better moderate and guide the raging teen troll users on the interwebs, but that is only a matter of time. Just like escaping convicts, the only things most of these people have are loads of time and ingenuity. :)

I was thinking more the groundwork from WWI, though you could reasonably reach back to Napoleon and before to find the roots of the Great Conflict and the War to End All Wars (I typically just look at them as a single conflict).

Ugh, can't stand when the riff raff start coming in from Gawker/Jez.
Keep Jalopnik about cars.

Jalopnik has never been just about cars. Car-centric for sure.
